Thievin, Thievin, Thievin, yeah you nothin but a thief
You been sneakin, sneakin, sneakin tryna sneak one over me
Best believe it, leave it, leave it, now what is this we read?
You’re nothin but a sell out, cause your soul was for a fee
(x2)
Ha!
Go ahead, roll the dice
What’s the result, what was the price?
Glad to know the worth, of dignity and pride
Was the cost of nickels, the cost of dimes
Guess what? You got it for free.
Are you proud of yourself?
I wasn’t kidding when I said pay!
Now you'll pay the ultimate price (your health!) (ZAP)
It didn’t take me minutes to make this, it took me years of hard work
I’m an artist at heart, I’ve got pride and self worth
You wanna be the jerk and Ignore all the hurt
Cause you got profit on the mind, I see it in your twisted smirk
I don’t understand faux boss types
Spendin so much time to pick who they like
Just so you can take the creative type
To feed them bullshit and a faux hype
Push them in a box, force conformity
But individual at heart, is the anomaly
Claim glamour and gains, in the big city
industry rapes , and it’s fucking shitty. (AHH)
Thievin, Thievin, Thievin, yeah you nothin but a thief
You been sneakin, sneakin, sneakin tryna sneak one over me
Best believe it, leave it, leave it, oh - what is this we read?
You’re nothin but a sell out, cause your soul was for a fee
(x2)
Thievin' thievin' thievin'
In the darkest of night/
These demons can smell you bleeding
So watch these sharks when they bite/
Blood is thicker than water
QBut they slicker than oil/
Have you believing you family
Then make off with your spoils/
Promise of watches, bracelets
And lavish vacations/
While they rope you into doing dirt
Way past the grave shift/
"Just look at all this money that
We could be making!"/
So many dates and holidays stolen
Along with inspiration/
I still find it depressing
Cuz my time's of the essence/
Yet they sap it away
Let it evaporate by the second/
Even when we in agreement
Just to cut me some slack/
How do I keep trusting these snakes
Expect 'em not to attack?/
Don't fix your forked silver tongue
To apologize for shit you've done/
When you just rinse and repeat
All the sins that you keep
Committin' just for funds/
Y'all never see karma coming
Like a thief in the night/
Cuz what you do in the shadows
Will soon be brought to the LIGHT/
(Sleep tiiiight)
Thievin, Thievin, Thievin, yeah you nothin but a thief
You been sneakin, sneakin, sneakin tryna sneak one over me
Best believe it, leave it, leave it, oh - what is this we read?
You’re nothin but a sell out, cause your soul was for a fee

I love this whole album: It just captures a wide range of experiences and affects the listener with a wide range of emotions.
I first liked this album because of the nerdcore elements, but I fell in love when I realized that these verses were true poetry, speaking to a deeper truth and beauty unlike most hip-hop I've heard. "A Poet" exemplifies this with its bittersweet message about how poetry is not valued. This is the first hip-hop tune I've ever shed a tear over.
Take a bow, Mega Ran. platinumazure
This album really captures the feel of the series. The hope that's hidden behind rage, fear, despair. You can sense all of it. EyeQ has a great support cast on this album as well, with none of the featured artists feeling out of place, they all feel as if they are strengthened by their placement here. Definitely glad I picked up a copy of this album as it was well worth twice the price I paid. Looking forward to more amazing things from EyeQ. smugzug
